James Randall, LSWAIC
James graduated from the University of Washington where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare and conducted a research study designed to evaluate Veterans Treatment Court which is a therapeutic mental health modeled court program for veterans and military personnel experiencing a variety of mental health and substance use symptoms. James also earned his Master’s in Social Work with a clinical concentration in June of 2022.
James completed the UW Psychiatry Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training Program and the Greenlake Therapy Group’s DBT Training Program. James is excited to pair his experience, passion, and education with the supportive team here at Greenlake, for a creative, exciting future in service to this community. James believes that every human can benefit from compassionate, supportive, trauma-informed care. He also works from a strengths-based perspective, which means simply that every human has strengths to work with, which can be drawn out and utilized in therapy.
James is from a small town in Illinois and moved to Washington when he was serving on Active Duty in the Army in 2008. James’ lived experience in recovery from mental illness and homelessness informs how he approaches therapy at Greenlake.
Jess Scola, LMHCA
Jess Scola, received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Middlebury College and her master's degree in counseling from Boston University, specializing in sport psychology. She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in school counseling. Jess has experience working with collegiate athletes, high school students and adults in diverse settings. In her private practice Jess uses evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also co-leads a DBT Skills Group for adults.
Hillary Thomason, LSWAIC
Hillary Thomason (she/her), MSW, LSWAIC, is a licensed clinical social work associate who works with adolescents and adults.
Hillary received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. Hillary recently completed her MSW internship with Greenlake Therapy Group providing comprehensive DBT and working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-injury and behaviors related to emotion dysregulation.
Hillary's professional background includes working in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry settings with a wide range of age groups; including children, adolescents, teens, and adults. Hillary began her work in mental health at Fairfax Behavioral Hospital Inpatient Psychiatric Units and then transitioned to providing inpatient care for a variety of mental health crises at Seattle Children’s Hospital’s, Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit. Most recently Hillary provided case management, behavioral management techniques and crisis planning, in addition to program development for an outpatient crisis clinic.
Given the majority of Hillary’s experience has been in crisis intervention services, she has had the chance to work and learn about many different mental health concerns and crises and is adaptable to meet the different needs of her clients.
Michelle lee, LSWAIC
Michelle is a Licensed Independent Social Work Associate (LSWAIC #SC61309243) and a Substance Use Disorder Professional. Michelle earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Washington in 2022 and specializes in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and other emotion regulation issues. Michelle also offers a multicultural lens to her approach. She understands that our environment/culture and our biology is key in understanding what we do and how we think. Michelle’s work is centered in helping people validate and regulate their emotions, figuring out what they need to accept and change, and helping them build a life worth living. Michelle uses a balance of irreverence and warmth as part of her style, highlighting her clients’ strengths and discovering/re-establishing values. She loves to laugh and hopes to laugh with you!
In Michelle’s spare time she loves to watch television and try new snacks from Trader Joe’s. The most interesting fact about Michelle is that she has a rabbit named Pickett, who has trained her to give him cashews when he spins.
